Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act

"Any person who requests information from a Scottish Public Authority which holds it, is entitled to be given it by the authority."(Scottish Information Commissioner's Website)

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) grants you the right to request to see information held by National Procurement.

What to include in your request

Your request must be in writing and include:

  • details of the information you would like to see, and
  • your name and postal address

If possible, please help us to find the information you want by being as specific as you can about the information you are seeking.  The Freedom of Information Act makes provisions for public authorities to refuse requests for information where the cost of dealing with them would exceed the appropriate limit of £600 or 3.5 days. Being as specific as you can and providing dates for when you believe the information was created will help us to find the information you wish to see.

Before you send your request please view National Services Scotland FOI disclosures log Open in new window. The log provides answers to previous FOI requests we have received.
